About the Emerald Centre
Founded in 2006, the Emerald Centre has grown into a trusted Leicester charity supporting individuals, families and community groups. We were established to serve the Irish Diaspora and continue to champion Irish identity, culture and connection while welcoming people from many backgrounds.
Our mission is simple: to improve lives through social, cultural, recreational and educational opportunities that help people feel supported, included and connected.
The Emerald Centre is an independent registered charity based in East Leicester. We work with local partners to deliver practical support, community activities and inclusive opportunities that help people build confidence, improve wellbeing and stay connected.
Our work spans all age groups, from activities for children and young people to training for adults and social and wellbeing support for older and vulnerable residents.
Our facilities include a function hall, meeting and training spaces, an award-winning community garden, an Irish Library and three football pitches, including Leicester’s only Gaelic football pitch.
Need a venue in Leicester? We offer facility hire for community groups, training providers, sports teams and private events, subject to availability.
